One UI 6.1 will likely debut on the Galaxy S24 series, which will be unveiled after two days. It is expected to bring several new features, particularly on the Galaxy S24. However, many features will likely be released to existing smartphones and tablets, and they have been leaked over the past few weeks.
One more small but useful customization feature from One UI 6.1 has now leaked, and it could come to all phones that are eligible to run One UI 6.1.
One UI 6.1 could have unlimited font options for the lock screen clock widget
Apparently, the lock screen clock widget in One UI 6.1 will be compatible with fonts that could be downloaded from the Galaxy Store, according to tipster Ice Universe. That essentially means you can create unlimited customizations to the look and feel of the lock screen clock widget. One UI 6.0 already introduced the ability to place and resize the lock screen clock widget to your heart's content. However, it only offered a handful of font options. With One UI 6.1, though, you can alter the lock screen clock widget's font, position, and size, bringing unlimited customization options.
One UI 6.1 is also said to feature smoother animations and transitions, as leaked in this story. Reports indicated that this upcoming version of One UI could make Samsung phones and tablets smoother and more fluid, thanks to improvements to animation, scaling, and transition quality. This update could come to existing Samsung smartphones and tablets within weeks of the Galaxy S24 launch.
Just a few weeks ago, Samsung released the One UI 6.0 update to several Galaxy phones and tablets, and it introduced dozens of new features and design improvements. You can check out all of those changes and improvements in our videos below.
One UI 6.1 will likely bring dozens of AI and Generative AI-powered features to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to previous leaks, it brings Generative AI-powered wallpaper generator, weather effects for the lock screen, notes summarization in Samsung Notes, message summarization, language improvement suggestions on Samsung Keyboard, Generative AI fill for editing images in the built-in image editor, and the ability to erase objects from images and videos.
Samsung has already announced that its future phones will have real-time language translation during voice calls. Other features could include an easier search gesture (circle) to search for things via Samsung Internet, the ability to increase/decrease the size of objects/subjects in images, and the ability to turn any part of a video into slow motion.
