The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are the first phones to run Samsung's new One UI 6.1 software. Although it might seem like a minor update over One UI 6.0, it isn't. It brings several new AI and customization features to Samsung's mobile devices. Some of those features will also be released to existing Galaxy devices before the end of the first half of this year.
One such feature is enhanced lock screen customization.
One UI 6.1 brings unlimited font support for the lock screen clock widget
With One UI 6.0, Samsung introduced more fonts, placement, and sizing options for the lock screen clock widget. With One UI 6.1, the company is taking customization up a notch by bringing support for more fonts for the lock screen clock widget. It now supports all the fonts that can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store. It means you can download any font that you like from the Galaxy Store, and you can use it for the lock screen clock widget.
Tipster Ice Universe has made a small video to show how it works and how you can use more fonts for the lock screen clock widget on devices running One UI 6.1. You can watch the video below.
Apart from new fonts, you can also add widgets to the lock screen, and this feature is similar to iPhones. Supported widgets include Calendar (Schedule), Clock (Upcoming Alarm), Reminder (Today's Reminder), Samsung Health (Daily Activity), System (Battery Status), and Weather (Air Quality, Chance of rain, Current temperature, Lunar phase, Sunrise/sunset times, and UV). You can enable/disable widgets and even enable wallpaper in the AoD mode.
You can watch all the new features that One UI 6.1 brings to Samsung phones in our in-depth video below. However, remember that not all features of One UI 6.1 seen on the Galaxy S24 will make it to existing/older eligible smartphones and tablets.
