The Galaxy S24 is the first to run Samsung's new One UI 6.1 software out of the box. It brings several new AI features but improves upon existing features. One of those features includes SmartThings Find, which Samsung has improved and spun off into a separate app, making things simpler.
Samsung Find can find devices and people
Samsung has made several changes with One UI 6.1, and one of those changes includes spinning off the SmartThings Find feature into a separate app called Samsung Find (spotted by Mishaal Rahman). It is not just a spin-off; it also adds a feature to find people (family members) rather than being limited to just devices. This app has three tabs: Devices, Items, and People. The Devices tab shows where your and your family members' devices are, while the Items tab lets you find your Galaxy SmartTags. The People tab allows you to share your location with your family members and vice versa.
Mishaal noted that the new app seems to be missing the ‘Notify When Left Behind' feature. As its name suggests, the feature sends you a notification to let you know that you may have left an important item or device behind. For example, if you leave your car keys (attached with Galaxy SmartTag) behind in the office, it will notify you as you leave your office area. This app is preloaded on devices running One UI 6.1 out of the box, like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Other devices that get the One UI 6.1 update later can download the app from the Galaxy Store.
