Samsung was expected to showcase One UI 7.0 at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024 event, but it didn't. However, at the event, we got our hands on a Galaxy S24 Ultra running an early build of One UI 7.0. We captured a video of the design of the new camera app, which you can watch below.

One UI 7.0 camera app design is great for one-handed usage

One UI 7.0 brings a massive change to the stock camera app's UI design. It places all the camera controls towards the bottom of the screen, making one-handed usage much easier than the previous design. As you can see in the video below, the camera mode switcher, zoom controls, and the button to open camera settings (Aspect Ratio, Exposure, Flash, ISO, Metering, Motion Photos, Resolution, and Timer) are all grouped together. The shortcut to the gallery and the front/rear camera switcher can be found beside the camera shutter button.

Depending on the camera mode, the new app displays relevant camera settings when you click the new icon with four circles. Earlier (until One UI 6.1.1), these camera settings were placed at the top of the screen (in portrait screen orientation).

This new camera app was leaked a few months ago through screenshots. Now, you can see it more clearly in our video. However, we can't be sure if this will be the final design of the camera app, as Samsung hasn't even announced the One UI 7.0 Beta Program yet.

During its keynote event, Samsung announced that the One UI 7.0 Beta Program will start before the end of this year, and the stable version of One UI 7.0 will be released early next year with the next Galaxy phone (Galaxy S25 series). So, a lot can change between now and then. We hope the company releases the One UI 7.0 beta update soon.
