Samsung may have revealed the One UI 7.0 release date. While it is known that the company releases a major version of One UI every year in the fourth quarter, the exact release date for One UI 7.0 is still unclear. However, we can deduce its time frame from this year's Samsung Developer Conference.
One UI 7.0 release date could be in October 2024
The Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024 will be held on October 3, 2024, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in Downtown San Jose, California. At this annual developer-focused event, the company could reveal all the features of One UI 7.0 and release its first stable version to compatible devices a few days later. Last year, the SDC 2023 event happened on October 5, and the stable One UI 6.0 update was released later that month.
Samsung could follow the same pattern this year, too. One UI 7.0 is based on Android 15, and the South Korean firm has already started internally testing the next major version of One UI. The company will release the One UI 7.0 update to over 50 Galaxy phones and tablets, and you can watch the complete list of eligible devices here.

One UI 7.0 is expected to improve Bluetooth Auracast, NFC, UI design, animations, and battery life. It could also bring the App Lock feature and a vertical app drawer. Android 15 and One UI 7.0 are expected to include several other improvements. However, the complete list of changes, new features, and improvements will only be revealed when Samsung announces the One UI 7.0 Beta Program in the next quarter.
Samsung could also bring improvements to other One UI ecosystem features, including Bixby, Buds Auto Switch, Galaxy AI, Gaming Hub, Modes & Routines, Multi Control, Quick Share, Samsung DeX, Samsung Knox, Secure Folder, and SmartThings.
