Samsung hasn't changed One UI much over the past three years. Last year, the Quick Panel layout was the only major change it introduced with One UI 6.0. This year, though, the company is expected to bring massive design improvements with the One UI 7.0 update.
The One UI 7.0 update will be based on Android 15.
One UI 7.0 could finally bring new icon designs
According to a new report from reliable tipster @UniverseIce, Samsung will introduce a brand-new UI design with One UI 7.0. The tipster claimed, “One UI 7 may be the most changed version in the history of One UI.” Apparently, Samsung is also changing icon designs with the upcoming major One UI version.
Samsung doesn't usually change the designs of its icons, and something like that usually happens once in five years. So, it looks like One UI 7.0 will be a significant redesign, and Samsung smartphone and tablet users might be happy to hear this. Some previous reports claimed that the South Korean firm could introduce a vertical app drawer with One UI 7.0.

When will One UI 7.0 be announced and released?
Samsung could start the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 series in the next two months. It could extend the beta program to older high-end phones, such as the Galaxy S23 series, in the subsequent weeks. It could release a few beta releases before announcing One UI 7.0 officially at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 on October 3, 2024.
If Samsung's track record is anything to go by, it could release the stable version of One UI 7.0 in October or November of this year. All compatible high-end and mid-range phones, foldables, and tablets could get the stable One UI 7.0 update before the end of this year. Some mid-range and entry-level devices could get the update in the first quarter of 2025.
