Samsung has rolled out the stable One UI 9.0 update to several devices over the past few weeks, introducing a variety of new features and customization options. Among the latest discoveries is a neat tweak for the taskbar on Galaxy Tab series tablets.

One UI 9.0 allows users to align favorite app icons on the taskbar to the left or right side of the screen. This is particularly handy if you prefer having your most-used apps easily reachable from either bottom corner rather than reaching toward the middle. Previously, favorite icons on the taskbar were restricted to a centered layout.

To customize this on a supported Galaxy Tab, head to Settings > Display > Taskbar, tap Taskbar position, and choose Center, Left, or Right. The option works across both gesture navigation and traditional three-button navigation. Note, however, that it is currently unavailable when running Samsung DeX.

This option is currently available on Galaxy Tab S12 series devices and could be released for other tablets with the One UI 9.0 update.

The feature has not arrived on Samsung's foldable lineup, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That is likely because foldables have smaller screen compared to tablets, making taskbar icon placement less critical for reachability.
