OPPO Find N5 is barely thicker than a USB Type-C port
The OPPO Find N5 is OPPO's next flagship foldable phone, and it is launching on February 20. While the company hasn't revealed exactly how thin it is, it appears barely thicker than a USB Type-C port when it is unfolded. Needless to say, the phone will likely be a lot thinner than Samsung's thinnest foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
In fact, OPPO has already started mocking Samsung. It has published images that compare the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and the Find N5 to compare their thickness and display crease. You can see those images below.
Despite being slimmer, the phone is said to pack a punch. It reportedly features an 8.12-inch foldable display, the Snapdragon 8 Elite (7-core version) processor, and a 5,600mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The OPPO Find N5 also features a triple-camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. It could have two 8MP front-facing cameras.
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera.
You can see the design of the OPPO phone in the video below.
So, the OPPO Find N5 seems to have bigger screens, a bigger battery, faster charging (wired and wireless), a better camera setup, and almost no display crease compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.
From all the rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is expected to go official later this year, Samsung's upcoming phone won't see a significant upgrade in hardware specifications. If that is indeed the case, Chinese smartphone brands may leave Samsung far behind in a segment where it was the de facto leader.
