Now that the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event is done, Samsung is switching its focus back to releasing software updates to its dozens of smartphones. The original Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip are the latest Galaxy devices to get the August 2022 security update.
Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip: Where is the August 2022 update rolling out?
The latest software update for the first-generation Galaxy Z Flip bears firmware version F700FTBS9GVH1. The update is rolling out in Egypt, India, Iraq, Isreal, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Tunisia, and Turkey.
The Galaxy Fold is getting the new software update with firmware version F900FXXU6HVG5. The update is now available in France, but we expect it to soon expand to other European, Asian, and American markets.
If you are a Galaxy Fold or Galaxy Z Flip user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
What's new in the August 2022 security update?
According to Samsung's official documentation for the August 2022 security update, the company has fixed dozens of privacy and security-related vulnerabilities, including the ones related to Samsung DeX, Samsung Knox, MAC address leaks through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and improper access controls.
The update could also include general UI-related bug fixes and device stability improvements.
