Valentine's Day is tomorrow and if you haven't already bought a gift for that special someone in your life, you need to hustle and get one! The best gifts are those we don't expect to receive as they make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Samsung wants to make a lot of its customers feel special on February 14. That's why it has started sending out an early Valentine's gift to over 100 million Samsung Galaxy users across the globe.
One UI 5.1 is the perfect Valentine's Day gift
We've talked about Samsung's impressive pace with software updates this year. The company has been very quick to release new updates to eligible devices. The One UI 5.0 roll out has been one of the fastest yet from the company.
At Unpacked earlier this month, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S23 series and as expected, the new handsets come with One UI 5.1. It's a minor upgrade for the custom skin but it does bring a handful of new features and changes.
It normally takes the company a couple of months to release such a minor upgrade to other devices that are eligible for it. However, merely two weeks after the Galaxy S23 series was announced, Samsung has now started rolling out the One UI 5.1 update for older devices. Bear in mind that the Galaxy S23 series hasn't even been released yet!
The following devices have received the One UI 5.1 update so far:
- Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra
- Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra
- Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra
- Galaxy S21 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3
- Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4
It's only a matter of time now before the remaining eligible devices receive the One UI 5.1 update from Samsung. These will include most Galaxy phones launched in 2021 and 2022, even the mid-range Galaxy A52/A53 and A72/A73 handsets. Some mid-range and flagship phones that were launched in 2019 and 2020 may eventually get One UI 5.1 as well, even if they have already received their last major Android upgrade.
