Although the Galaxy A54 is not perfect, as it suffers from UI performance and optimization issues that Samsung could address through firmware updates, the mid-range phone is still a good choice — for the right price. The Galaxy A54 usually costs $449, which is arguably a bit high given its mild issues, but prospective buyers can save 17% on the device through an ongoing Amazon discount.
For a limited time, Amazon is selling the factory-unlocked Galaxy A54 in the USA for $375 instead of $449. And this probably is one of the fairest price tags you could attach to the Galaxy A54. The deal is valid for the Awesome Graphite and Awesome Violet color options, which are the official names for these flavors, even though Amazon labels them “black” and “violet.”
The phone is unlocked for all carriers and features 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD. It also ships with 6GB of RAM, which can be expanded virtually through the RAM Plus app at the cost of internal storage.
Other hardware specs match expectations for the mid-range market and especially the $375 promotional price. But the things that set the Galaxy A54 apart from other mid-range phones are its superior build quality with an IP67 dust and water resistance rating and Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and back, the bright AMOLED display with Vision Booster technology, its stereo speakers, and the competent camera setup with OIS and improved VDIS, which deliver decent result even in low-light conditions.
Battery life is also great, and Samsung says the phone will benefit from four major OS upgrades and five years of security patches, which is a boon for customers who intend to keep using the device for a few years and don't plan on upgrading their phones every new generation. The Galaxy A54 is shipping with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. You can check out our in-depth Galaxy A54 review for more details.
