Many smartphone brands have started using Samsung's ISOCELL camera sensors in their mid-range and premium smartphones. The latest in the line to use an ISOCELL camera is the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro. It is a gaming smartphone with some unique features and will be launched in China on December 26, 2022.

The Red Magic 8 Pro, the company's flagship gaming smartphone, features a 6.8-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 16MP under-display selfie camera. The display, which BOE and Red Magic jointly customized, is reportedly the world’s first under-screen flexible straight screen. It has 1.48mm side bezels and a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio.

On the rear, it has a triple-camera setup featuring Samsung's ISOCELL GN5 50MP primary camera. It is a 1/1/57-inch sensor with 1.2µm pixels, dual-pixel autofocus, and 10-bit colors. The other two cameras include an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. To cool this chipset, Red Magic has designed the world's first 3D ice-level dual-pump VC liquid cooling technology for smartphones. It has a whopping 18GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

Since it is a gaming smartphone, it has shoulder buttons (triggers) and a custom Red Core R2 gaming chip. It is claimed to accurately adjust gaming controls, such as shoulder buttons, touchscreen response, sound effects, and vibration, for an immersive gaming experience. It also has huge stereo speakers and a large sound chamber. The device is powered by a 6,000mAh battery that can fast-charge at up to 165W.
