Samsung: 2022 will mark a turning point for Unpacked events

Samsung's yearly Unpacked events are going through some exciting changes. These launch events have been the best place to be for Samsung fans since 2009, and over the past couple of years in the COVID era, the formula shifted from offline to online events for safety concerns. Now, as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 approach the stage, Samsung aims to redefine the Unpacked experience once again and start a new chapter.

Samsung announced today that it's embracing a new age of Unpacked conferences. For the next event, scheduled to take place on August 10, Samsung claims to have taken “the best of on and offline events” to make Unpacked an even better unforgettable experience.

Combining online and offline Unpacked events

The Korean tech giant just confirmed it has prepared new experiences and experiential event spaces for Unpacked in the hearts of London's Piccadilly Circus and New York's Meatpacking District. The company will bring together Galaxy fans, partners, journalists, and Samsung employees from all over the world to witness the latest Galaxy phones and wearables.

Samsung claims that its new event spaces “will allow consumers around the world to get hands-on and explore […] products in a fun, creative, engaging and immersive setting.” But as of now, it's not entirely clear exactly how these revamped event spaces will get the point across to customers from all over the world. We're guessing Samsung has prepared another interactive website that can be navigated simila to a physical space.

Samsung and BTS unite forces once again!

The Korean tech giant is taking its next Unpacked event quite seriously, and if you need more proof of this, look no further. Samsung confirmed today that it has once again partnered with the K-pop phenomenon BTS to “paint the town purple.”

Samsung announced its new Bora Purple color for mobile devices not long ago, and to mark the occasion, Samsung announced that it has partnered with BTS for an unmissable trans-Atlantic premier video set to go live on August 10.

This BTS video will light the way purple online as well as in several popular districts around the world, such as Times Square in New York. Unpacked will take place on August 10 at 9 AM EDT / 2 PM BST / 10 PM KST. You'll be able to watch the event on our website once it goes live.

Samsung claims to have reimagined Unpacked for 2022 “through the lens of our Galaxy openness philosophy to match the creativity of our unparalleled new foldables.” The company says it not only wants to innovate the new technologies but “also to innovate our marketing approach.” And to achieve this, Samsung will “ensure that the Galaxy experience is open to everyone.”

Needless to say, Unpacked sounds more exciting than ever, and 2022 might be a turning point for Samsung's popular yearly launch event.
