Samsung has just unveiled new OLED, Neo QLED, The Frame, and The Frame Pro lineups of televisions for this year at CES 2025
Many of these models offer new display panels, sound systems, connectivity options, and design, but they also bring some very interesting AI-powered features, including the one that gives you information about what’s on the screen, such as details about the actor and the place.
It makes watching content more immersive and convenient than before. Let's take a look at them.
Samsung's 2025 model year TVs feature Click to Search, Live Translate, and Generative Wallpaper
At CES, the South Korean tech giant unveiled Samsung Vision AI, the company’s vision for implementing artificial intelligence in its products, and all the new TVs that the brand announced today are a part of this project.
Under it, Samsung is offering three main AI features for the new TVs: Click to Search, Live Translate, and Generative Wallpaper.
Click to Search will give you information about what's on the screen
Let’s start with the most interesting feature: Click to Search. It works in a similar way to Google’s Circle to Search, which works on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. When you summon Click to Search on Samsung TVs, it will provide information about what’s on the display, including details about the place, actor, and objects.
We think this is a very useful feature that will save you from the hassle of asking someone about those things or searching for them on the Internet.
Live Translate can generate subtitles in real time
The second feature, Live Translate, is equally impressive. Have you ever been in situations where the video that’s being played lacks subtitles or the subtitle timing is mismatched with the video?
Well, this is where the Live Translate feature comes in. It creates subtitles for the video that’s being played in real time, even for live broadcasts, providing you with even more clarity about what’s going on in the video. Samsung says that it supports up to seven languages.
Generative Wallpaper can create images you want
The last feature is Generative Wallpaper. It, too, works in the same way Generative Wallpaper works in One UI 6 and One UI 7 on Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
In Samsung’s own words, it “transforms screens into dynamic, personalized art canvases, leveraging generative AI to create images tailored for any taste or occasion.” It looks like this feature can create images you want using AI, and you can set those photos as wallpapers, which sounds fun.
The story continues after the video…
There is no doubt that these features will be very handy in the day-to-day TV viewing experience. We just hope that Samsung extends these features to older models. However, that seems unlikely as the older TVs might not have the power to run them.
