Samsung, the world's biggest soundbar brand, has announced that it has sold over 30 million soundbars in its lifetime. The company's first soundbar was released in 2008, and it was the HT-X810 with a built-in DVD player. Since then, the company has been highly successful in the category.
The South Korean firm is on its way to becoming the world's biggest soundbar brand for the ninth consecutive year (since 2014). The company's first soundbar was the first in the industry to connect wirelessly with the sub-woofer. Since then, the company has experimented a lot and released soundbars with built-in Blu-ray players, curved soundbars, and soundbars that play sound in collaboration with TV speakers.
Future Source, a global market research firm, said that Samsung's revenue share was 19.6% in 2021. Even this year, the company's new soundbars have received favorable reviews from experts. The HW-Q990B, Samsung's flagship soundbar for the year, received praise from technology publication T3. It is the world's first soundbar with an 11.1.4-channel setup and wireless connection with a TV for Dolby Atmos.
Il-kyung Seong, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “As more and more consumers value sound experience to enjoy perfect images, interest in Samsung Sound Bars is increasing. We will continue to introduce new products that fit our needs.”
