Samsung is planning to launch an 83-inch OLED TV that will feature a display panel manufactured by LG Display. Last month, Samsung registered the TV, carrying model number KQ83SC90A, at the National Radio Research Institute (NRRI), suggesting that it could hit the market very soon. However, there was no clue about when the brand was planning to unveil the new product. Well, now we do, thanks to a new report from Korea.
According to Business Korea, Samsung has added the 83-inch OLED TV, with model number KQ83SC90AEXKR, to the July/August 2023 issue of the company’s general catalog of consumer products. If the news is indeed true, it confirms that Samsung is all set to reveal its biggest OLED TV by the end of next month (August 2023). The publication also says that many TV experts believe Samsung’s 83-inch OLED TV to hit the shelves next month.
In response to the latest development, Samsung Electronics told Business Korea, “Nothing has been finalized yet regarding the launch of an 83-inch OLED TV model.” The upcoming 83-inch TV from Samsung will have a WRGB OLED panel from LG Display, which will be similar to the ones found in LG’s and Sony’s 83-inch OLED TVs. Once the product hits the shelves, Samsung will have 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch OLED TVs on offer.
In 2022, Samsung launched 55-inch and 65-inch QD-OLED TVs. This year, the company expanded its lineup to include a 77-inch QD-OLED TV. By the end of this year, the company will also have an 83-inch QD-OLED TV.
