The Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) was officially announced today, but the time for leaks is not over yet. Leaked press renders have now emerged to reveal a couple of upcoming accessories for the new low-cost tablet, including a Clear Edge Cover and a Protective Standing Cover.
Both solutions are great for a tablet of this type because they shouldn't be too expensive but should add a bit of resilience to a tablet that'll probably be thrown around a lot.
Judging by these renders (via WinFuture), the Clear Edge Cover is the simpler solution, consisting of a rubberized bumper/frame and a sheet of protective transparent plastic for the back panel.
Meanwhile, the Protective Standing Cover (below) adds a bit of shock resistance, and more importantly, a kickstand. Given its relatively limited capabilities, the Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) will be used by most people as a multimedia consumption device, so adding a kickstand can be very practical.
The Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) should go on sale in Europe later this month for the starting price of 229 euros. The bumper accessory will reportedly cost around 30 euros, whereas the Protective Standing Cover could go on sale for anywhere between 40 and 60 euros. It remains to be seen if these will be the only official accessories for the Galaxy Tab A8 or if Samsung has others planned. We'll keep you posted.
