Samsung has reduced its push toward Bixby over the past few years, but it is far from abandoning its AI-powered digital voice assistant. The company has been consistently adding more features to Bixby and Bixby Routines. Today, the company has released one more update to Bixby that makes it easier to accept calls without touching the device.
Bixby's new update (v3.2.12.16) brings a feature that lets you accept incoming calls using the “accept call” voice command without needing to say “Hi, Bixby” first. You can also ask the phone to “stop the alarm” when the alarm is ringing without uttering Bixby trigger words. This makes it easier to use the phone without actually touching it.
Right now, this new Bixby feature is compatible with the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Samsung says that it will expand the feature to more Galaxy smartphones in the future, but it did not reveal the names of phones that will get the new optimization.
Samsung has also fixed some Bixby-related bugs and improved the performance of its digital voice assistant with the new app update. Bixby Dictation and Bixby Wakeup services have received bug-fixing updates as well. You can install all these updates through the Galaxy Store.
