If you've missed your opportunity to buy the Galaxy Fold in Brazil when it was released last month, fret not, as you're now getting your second chance. Samsung Brazil confirmed that a new Galaxy Fold batch has been shipped to the country, and the foldable hybrid is once again in stock and available for purchase from the company's official website.
The official announcement is fresh and, at the time of this writing, the ‘registration' option shown on the online store page has not yet been replaced with the ‘buy' button. This should change by the end of the day when prospective Galaxy Fold buyers in Brazil will be able to tap into the new stock and acquire the premium device for R$12,999, or the rough equivalent of $3,100.
Indeed, the Galaxy Fold's launch price in Brazil hasn't changed at all since January. It's impressive to see how, despite the $1,000 premium over the original price in other markets, the Galaxy Fold was sold out in less than 24 hours of availability. It would be even better if Samsung could share the exact sales figures for each market, but the company has been very quiet on this front and was only able to confirm that it sold between 400,000 and 500,000 Galaxy Fold units worldwide throughout 2019.
Time will tell if the Galaxy Fold will be able to maintain its momentum after Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Flip next week. It very well could, given that the Z Flip is a different take on the foldable concept instead of a true sequel to the OG Fold. The direct sequel is expected to arrive in the second half of the year.
