Samsung unveiled its first smartphones with Galaxy AIGalaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra—last month, and it received an excellent response for those phones. The South Korean firm isn't planning to stop there, and it has announced that it will bring Galaxy AI features to more device categories, including wearables.

TM Roh, Samsung MX CEO and President, penned an editorial and said the company wants to bring Galaxy AI features to its future wearable devices. It plans to use AI to enhance digital health and “unlock a whole new era of expanded, intelligent health experiences.” He said that Samsung will collaborate with industry-leading AI partners to bring improvements to all its products in the future. While the company didn't reveal much about those upcoming features, those features may debut with the upcoming Galaxy Ring and the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which are expected to be unveiled in the second half of this year. Both upcoming wearables could be launched in Q3 2024 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The company has improved fitness and health tracking features and accuracy with its Galaxy Watches over the past few years. With the Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung switched to Wear OS, which brought many more apps and integrations to its wearable devices. It has also partnered with universities and firms to improve the performance of its smartwatches. With AI, people may get more answers quickly from the data that Galaxy Watches collects.

TM Roh Profile

TM Roh said that AI is set to revolutionize not only Samsung smartphones but the whole industry. He also said that the company has many concepts and ideas that it wants to bring to life. More AI features will come to Galaxy devices in the future, including smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. However, he also said that AI is in nascent stages and is susceptible to hallucinations. There are debates on intellectual property rights, too. So, challenges and responsibilities must be considered, and companies must collaborate more openly on AI. Samsung claims that it will remain committed to enhancing the privacy and security of Galaxy devices.

In our in-depth video above, you can watch all the AI features that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S24 series. Some of those AI features are also coming to older smartphones, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The Galaxy Tab S9 series could also get Galaxy AI features.
