Samsung is once again bringing together professional esports players under the Odyssey banner. The company has announced the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship — an esports event for professional and amateur gamers from Southeast Asia (SEA) and Oceania.

As the name suggests, the tournament revolves around Valve's Dota 2 MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game, which is well-known for its large esports community and fanbase.

Samsung hopes this new event will bring together an even larger community than last year's Odyssey Cup Influencer Invitational and the recent Campus League.

The upcoming tournament is open to all gaming fans aged 18 and higher. Even better, Samsung also prepared a Pro vs. Amateur format alongside the big esports event, allowing players of all skill levels to compete against professionals.

Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship – How, When, and Where?

Samsung's Dota 2 tournament invites representatives from six SEA markets, i.e., Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, to compete and advance to the SEA finals.

Four other pro teams will then join them to vie for a spot in the grand finals, where only six teams will progress. The final playoffs will also host two other teams from Oceania markets, New Zealand and Australia, and all eight teams will compete for the title of regional champion and a $20,000 cash prize pool.

The story continues after the video

Most of Samsung's Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship will be hosted virtually, with online qualifiers taking place from September 21 to 25. The SEA finals are scheduled for September 28-29, and all eight teams will compete for the top spot at the Hatten Hotel in Melaka. The playoffs are scheduled from October 10 to 13.

Samsung is taking this opportunity to promote the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6 gaming monitors, both of which offer fast response times and high refresh rates, along with OLED glare-free technology and great picture quality.
