With the One UI 6.1 update, Samsung has changed (read improved) a lot of things. One of those changes also includes a full-fledged app to manage Samsung devices. Earlier, all your Samsung devices used to show up in the SmartThings Find section of the SmartThings app. However, the company is now turning the finding part into a separate app to simplify things.
Samsung Find replaces SmartThings Find
Samsung is replacing the SmartThings Find section with a separate app called Samsung Find. The Samsung Find app does a lot of the same things, and it debuted with the One UI 6.1 software on the Galaxy S24 series this month. Now, the Samsung Find app is available on the Galaxy Store (via @Razar_the_Raven), which means people can download and update it from the Galaxy Store. It's a 70MB app released a few days ago and is currently on version 1.0.40.
It can be used to find the location of your Samsung smartphones, tablets, laptops, Galaxy SmartTags, and even people in your family. It has three tabs: Devices, Items, and People. The Devices tab shows all your phones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops, while the People section shows the location of your family members if they're sharing their location with you. The Items tab lists all your Galaxy SmartTags. Even in the Devices and Items tabs, there are two sections. One shows your devices/items, while the other displays the location of your family members' devices/items.
You can use this app to share your location or the location of your device/item with others. You can find the exact location of your device or item by clicking the Make Sound feature. For devices with UWB, it even shows you the directions to reach your item in an easier way.
