Samsung has given us a first look into its vision for a “Workplace for the Future” at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 and the Samsung Flip is at the center of it. The Samsung Flip is a 55-inch digital whiteboard that's aimed at businesses looking to improve collaborative digital engagement.
It can be flipped between portrait and horizontal orientations and has been designed for meeting rooms. The Samsung Flip features a height-adjustable stand and it can be wheeled around the office easily.

The Samsung Flip supports multi-user engagement and allows up to four different users to introduce content or annotate directly on the UHD resolution screen at the same time using their fingers or a dual-sided pen. The Samsung Flip is powered by the Tizen 3.0 OS platform.
It features wireless connectivity, USB, PC and mobile ports to connect to a wide range of devices. There's even an integrated screen-sharing functionality that makes Flip content available on connected PCs, smartphones and tablets without interruption or reduced quality. All of the content is secured by Samsung Flip securely within a central database.
Samsung is going to start selling the Flip to businesses later this month. It hasn't confirmed as yet how much it's going to cost.
It's clearly trying to take on Microsoft and Google's 55-inch digital whiteboards but those companies have robust operating systems and an ecosystem of services that tempt businesses to adopt them. Whether or not Samsung will be able to compete against all of that with the Flip remains to be seen.
