Ever since we first heard about the Galaxy A13 5G, we're learning more and more about what could be Samsung's most affordable 5G-equipped handset in 2022. The phone has now been benchmarked on the Geekbench website, which reveals that it will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, same as the Galaxy A22 5G.
That means even though the A13 5G will be cheap in price, its performance will be anything but. We found the Dimensity 700 to be pretty good when we reviewed the Galaxy A22 5G earlier this year, and it's certainly much better than the MediaTek chipsets that Samsung has used in the past (we're looking at you, Helio G80).
The Dimensity 700 will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM according to the benchmark entry, and we will probably see a variant with a little more (or possibly a little less) RAM. The benchmark also says the Galaxy A13 5G was running Android 11, but we hope Samsung will have Android 12 ready to go by the time the phone launches.
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy A13 5G could feature a 5,000 mAh battery and could be among the first mid-range phones from Samsung to sport a new 50MP camera sensor. And according to the benchmark, the A13 5G will be sold in the US, so we can assume it will have fairly wide availability whenever it goes official.
