A month after unveiling the Galaxy A14 5G, Samsung has silently introduced the Galaxy A14 4G (via FoneArena). Although this smartphone looks similar to its 5G sibling, it offers lower specifications in almost all the important ways. As the name suggests, it lacks 5G connectivity. It also uses a slower processor, a lower refresh rate display, and slower charging speeds.
Samsung hasn't announced its pricing yet, but the phone will go on sale in Malaysia in three colors: Black, Dark Red, and Silver.
Galaxy A14 4G specifications
The Galaxy A14 4G features a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution, an Infinity-V notch, and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a 50MP primary camera with an F1.8 aperture, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. The phone can record 1080p 30fps videos using both front and rear cameras.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A14 4G with the MediaTek Helio G80 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone also features a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to an additional 1TB. The phone runs Android 13-based One UI 5 out of the box. Connectivity features of the Galaxy A14 4G include GPS, a dual-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, a USB 2.0 Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint reader for added security. The Galaxy A14 4G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports a measly 10W charging capability. In this day and age, Samsung should really phase out 10W charging and upgrade all its phones to a minimum of 25W fast charging, especially considering the huge battery capacities that phones have these days.
