Last month, Samsung officially launched the low-cost Galaxy A22 5G along with its non-5G sibling, the Galaxy A22. For all intents and purposes, it was a paper launch as Samsung neglected to mention anything about its availability. While that is still a mystery for many parts of the globe, 91mobiles happened to stumble upon some information about the Galaxy A22 5G India launch date, albeit a tentative one.
Sources have told the publication that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy A22 5G in India sometime in August. Samsung had already unveiled the vanilla Galaxy A22 in India about two weeks ago. However, one would be right to give the Galaxy A22 5G a miss, as the specifications differences between the two variants are quite significant. It is quite clear that Samsung has cut quite a few corners to accommodate the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC that enables 5G connectivity.
For those out of the loop, the Galaxy A22 5G ships with a 6.6-inch TFT panel clocked at 90Hz. The aforementioned MediaTek chipset is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. At the back, we get three camera sensors; a 48MP primary lens, 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. An 8MP module handles selfies and video calls. Its 5,000mAh battery supports fast charging at 15W. Other features include a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 11 customized with One UI 3.1.
