The Galaxy A42 5G has received a few firmware updates this year, and its journey continues. Samsung is now updating the Galaxy A42 5G with a new firmware update containing the May 2022 security patch.
The new update identified by firmware version A426BXXU3DVE2 is presently rolling out in Taiwan, but other markets should soon follow.
The Galaxy A42 5G hasn't received an update in a couple of months, and when Android 12 came in March, it contained that month's security patch.
The May 2022 security patch began rolling out about a month ago. According to Samsung's changelog, the patch fixes a variety of vulnerabilities concerning apps like Weather, Galaxy Themes, and Setup Wizard.
To download the latest firmware on the Galaxy A42 5G where it's available, you can wait for the update notification to arrive or attempt to trigger the process from the Settings app on your phone under “Software update.”
