Samsung has released a new software update to the Galaxy A53 5G in the US. The update is rolling out to both carrier-locked and unlocked versions of the smartphone. The international variant of the smartphone hasn't received the update yet, which is strange since it's usually the other way around.
The new software update for the Galaxy A53 5G's carrier-locked version bears firmware version A536USQU3AVH1. The unlocked version of the phone is getting the same update with firmware version A536U1UES4AVH4. The update is rolling out on all carrier networks in the US, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile.
The September 2022 security patch fixes over two dozen privacy and security vulnerabilities. The update might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. If you are a Galaxy A53 user in the US, you can install the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G alongside the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A73 5G earlier this year. All three phones debuted with Android 12 out of the box and are promised to get four major Android OS updates and up to five years of security updates.
