Even though Samsung is about to unveil the Galaxy Book 3 series of laptops at Unpacked next month, the company has now announced the release of the Galaxy Book 2 Go for the UK market. The said notebook will be available in the UK in late January, and customers will have three memory options from which to pick, with prices starting at £499 for the Wi-Fi-only variant. Samsung will also offer two 5G models.
The Galaxy Book 2 Go is an ARM laptop running Windows 11 Home edition. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 chipset, and it ships with 4/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of UFS storage. It also has a 42.3Wh battery and a 14-inch Full HD TFT IPS display on a 180-degree folding hinge.
Lightweight and durable, with dual-SIM capabilities
Weighing in at 1.44 kg, the Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G is a lightweight notebook with entry-level specifications. Samsung claims that the notebook is MIL-STD-810H-certified, which means it offers “military-grade durability” and should be able to take a bit of a beating. The 5G variant soon to hit the UK market benefits from Wi-Fi 6E and 5G ENDC. It also offers dual-SIM (eSIM+pSIM) capabilities.
Since it is a Samsung notebook, the Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G also has access to features like Quick Share, the latter of which allows Galaxy smartphone and tablet users to transfer files even when they don't have an active internet connection. The notebook can also be synced with a Galaxy Tab to use as a second screen and offers easy pairing and switching with Galaxy Buds through Easy Buds Connection.
Samsung says it will start selling the Galaxy Book 2 Go at the end of January through its online store and select operators. The Wi-Fi-only model will be available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for £499. The Galaxy Book 2 Go 5G with the same memory configuration will set you back £649. And if you want 5G and 8GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage, you're looking at a price of £749.
If you need a more powerful laptop, you may want to wait for Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Book 3 series at Unpacked on February 1. Or you can reserve it now and benefit from $50 in Samsung Credit.
