Today, with only two weeks left before the end of 2023, Samsung announced its latest-generation Galaxy Book 4 laptops, consisting of an Ultra model, a Galaxy Book 4 Pro, and a Book 4 Pro 360. The latter is a 2-in-1 laptop that can turn into a tablet, but now, every Galaxy Book model (360 or not) has a touchscreen.
Let's begin with a closer look at the Galaxy Book 4 Pro. It will be available in two variants, featuring a 14-inch or a 16-inch AMOLED display. Each has a resolution of 2880 x 1800, a 48-120Hz variable refresh rate, 400 nits of brightness with Vision Booster technology, and 120% DCI-P3 color volume.
Future Galaxy Book 4 Pro buyers will have two CPU options: an Intel Core Ultra 5 or an Intel Core Ultra 7. The chips have Intel Arc Graphics. Memory options include 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB SSD storage.
The Galaxy Book 4 Pro also features studio-quality dual microphones, AKG Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 connector, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio port, a 2MP webcam, and a 65W USB Type-C power adapter.
Each Galaxy Book 4 Pro variant has a backlit keyboard, but the 16-inch model has a numeric keypad.
Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 specifications
The Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 comes in only one size, featuring a 16-inch display that can flip around 360 degrees to turn the laptop into a Windows 11 tablet. Otherwise, it's almost identical to the non-360 16-inch variant.
The AMOLED panel has the same characteristics mentioned above, including 400 nits, 120% DCI-P3 color volume, and a 48-120Hz variable refresh rate.
Likewise, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 has an Intel Core Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 CPU, Intel Arc graphics, 16/32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB or 1TB of SSD storage. The port configuration, webcam, and speakers are the same.
However, the Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 also ships with an S Pen, which enables new use cases, particularly in tablet mode.
Galaxy Book 4 Pro series software
The Galaxy Book 4 Pro series ships with Windows 11 Home Edition, but Samsung has added a few software tricks of its own.
Auto Switch allows users to seamlessly connect Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds to multiple Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Book 4 series. Samsung Studio gives users new video creation tools, and the Samsung Gallery app for Windows also has the Photo Remaster feature. In addition, Second Screen can turn Galaxy tablets into second monitors for the Galaxy Book 4 laptops.
