A few years ago, Samsung debuted the Galaxy Buds Live, its most unusual-looking wireless earbuds, to compete with Apple's AirPods. Some liked their open design, while others hated it. Later, the company used some of its best design bits for the cases of the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds Pro.
If you were waiting for Samsung to launch a successor to the Galaxy Buds Live, you might be in for a disappointment. According to tipster @chuvn8888, the South Korean firm has dropped the Galaxy Buds Live design, so it probably won't launch the Galaxy Buds Live 2 in the future. Instead, the company is preparing itself for the launch of the Galaxy Buds 3.
Galaxy Buds Live were genuinely different from most other wireless earbuds
The Galaxy Buds Live has a bean-shaped design and sits in the ear's concha part. Unlike most other wireless earbuds, it didn't have silicone ear tips that fit into a user's ear canal. Some users preferred them as the Galaxy Buds Live didn't completely block outside noise and allowed them to hear people without removing the earbuds. Such users might have to look elsewhere or use the transparency mode in other Galaxy Buds.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Buds 3 during its Galaxy Unpacked 2023 Part 2 event, where it will also unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup. The South Korean firm might bring some of the most popular features of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro to the Galaxy Buds 3 but at a lower price.
