The Galaxy Buds On are Samsung's first clip-on style wireless earbuds. They were announced in October 2026 and went on sale that same month in select countries. They use Samsung's new TwinBoost speakers for better bass in an open-ear design.
Here is everything you need to know about them, including their design, features, battery life, charging, pricing, and availability.
The Galaxy Buds On feature a clip-on style design that does not block the ear canal, unlike previous Galaxy Buds models. They are meant to be worn on the outside of the ear. The audio driver rests near the opening of your ear canal to deliver sound, while the other end of the earbud wraps around the back of your earlobe to hold it securely in place.
They are designed to be comfortable even during long listening sessions. Their ergonomic shape distributes pressure evenly across the ears and offers a secure fit during workouts. They also feature an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The earbuds are ambidextrous and can sense your left or right ear, depending on which earbud you wear in which ear.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Buds On with TwinBoost speakers that offer enhanced bass to compensate for the open-ear design. Additionally, in-house Audio Leakage Reduction technology prevents sound from escaping to people nearby.
The earbuds are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound chip, bringing Bluetooth 6.2 and LE Audio support. They are compatible with the AAC, SBC, SSC (Samsung Seamless Codec), and SSC-UHQ (Samsung Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality) audio codecs.
They feature six microphones and Samsung's Super Wide Band audio for high-quality voice calls. They support Buds Auto Connect and Buds Auto Switch on supported Galaxy devices.
The earbuds include a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) to detect voice commands, a proximity sensor to automatically play and pause music, and a touch sensor for music and volume controls. Other features include automatic volume control and head gestures.
These earbuds support Bixby and Gemini Live, allowing you to easily converse with AI-powered digital assistants. Furthermore, Samsung Find can be used to locate the earbuds if they are lost or misplaced.
Each earbud has a 61mAh battery, and the charging case features a 550mAh battery. Together, they provide up to 38 hours of music playback and up to 25 hours of voice calling. A single charge of the earbuds lasts up to 5.5 hours for voice calls and 9.5 hours for music playback.
The charging case has a USB Type-C port and supports Qi wireless charging (from 2.5W to 4.5W).
The Galaxy Buds On cost $229 in the US and KRW 299,000 in South Korea. They launched in South Korea in October 2026 and in the US in November 2026. They will launch in other countries in early 2027.
