While many Galaxy devices are lucky enough to have received the latest security patch from Samsung, others are not. Their price and limited reach don't make them a priority, but even so, they're not abandoned or forgotten. One recent example is the Galaxy F22, which is now getting a newer – but not the latest – security update.
The April 2023 security update is now available for the Galaxy F22, you guessed it: in India. The update has firmware version E225FXXS6DEW1. If you're expecting new features like the Image Clipper, don't. The Galaxy F22 may never get that tool, plus this is a routine security patch — one that corresponds to April rather than May 2023. All you get is improved security.
Last month, Samsung revealed that the April 2023 security patch addresses 66 security flaws discovered in Galaxy phones and tablets. But don't expect every one of these faults to affect your Galaxy F22. Some vulnerabilities concern Android OS, and others concern specific phones, tablets, hardware, and Samsung software.
Galaxy F22 users in India should receive an update notification at any moment, or they can try triggering the update manually by accessing the Settings app on their phones, navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Or they can download the official firmware files from our website if they prefer manual updates through a Windows PC.
