Samsung Galaxy M34 5G is all but official in India

A little over a month ago, the Galaxy M34 5G showed up on the BIS website (Bureau of Indian Standards). That meant the phone got one step closer to its debut in India. A month later, as in now, the Galaxy A34 5G got spotted online on Samsung's own website in India. The device is not available for pre-order or purchase, and there are no renders to look at or specifications to study. However, a new Galaxy M34 5G support page now exists.

On this official support page, the upcoming budget phone is associated with model number SM-M346B/DS, which means it has 5G connectivity and dual-SIM capabilities. Once again, specifications are unmentioned. But the important part is that the phone is getting really close to its market debut.

In theory, the Galaxy M34 5G should be a cheaper Galaxy A34 clone, which means it might focus less on design and build quality but feature a similar 6.6-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a resolution of 120Hz, a Dimensity 1080 SoC, and up to 8GB of RAM.

Is Samsung offering too many choices again?

In addition to the Galaxy M34 5G, Samsung is also expected to release an F-branded variant, which might be even more cost-effective, especially if it will be released exclusively through Flipkart with deals and day-one discounts in tow.

The Galaxy F34 5G, as it were, was also spotted at BIS last month. However, support pages for this device don't exist as of this writing. Does this mean the Galaxy M34 5G will go on sale before the F34? It could be, but there's no guarantee. The Galaxy F34 5G could pop up on Flipkart any day now.

Whichever phone comes first, Samsung is giving customers more choices in the low-cost segment, and that's never a bad thing unless there are so many choices that it creates confusion. But we're not at that point yet, and the Galaxy A34, M34, and F34 are essentially different sides of the same three-sided coin. Okay, so maybe we are getting close to the point where there might be too many variants of the same phone in the works. We'll just have to see if Samsung can make sense of their pricing.
