A mid-range Galaxy phone no one expected or asked for has been leaked in full by the folks over at SmartPrix. The publication has released renders of the Galaxy M55s, a variant of the Galaxy M55 (read our review here) that launched in March this year, and revealed all of its specs.
The Galaxy M55s feels unnecessary because it doesn't seem to be very different compared to the M55. It even uses the same chip as the Galaxy M55, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and has the same battery capacity and camera setup as well.
Galaxy M55s appears to be a Galaxy M55 with slight visual changes to the design
The design of the phone is also similar to the M55. However, Samsung has replaced the M55's smooth no-nonsense rear panel with “shiny stripes” that start above the camera and extend to the lower half. It's a unique approach we haven't seen on Samsung smartphones before. It's the only thing differentiating the M55s visually from the M55.
The spec sheet seems to have carried forward unchanged from the M55. The highlights include the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, 50MP rear and front-facing cameras, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W charging support.
Other specs include a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, stereo speakers, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with microSD expansion support, 8MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro camera, and 55G connectivity.
The pricing remains a mystery, though we hope Samsung will price it lower than the Galaxy M55s considering it's reusing the same components and has only refreshed the design a little. The M55s will launch in the Indian market later this year.
