Samsung does a rinse-and-repeat job with some of its mid-range phones every year. This year, the company essentially launched the same smartphone three times and stamped it with three different names: Galaxy C55, Galaxy F55, and Galaxy M55. It appears that the device will soon get its fourth iteration with minimal changes.

Galaxy M55s uses the same Snapdragon chip as Galaxy M55

An unannounced Samsung smartphone bearing model number SM-M558B was recently spotted in Geekbench's database. Going by its model number, it could be named the Galaxy M55s. It features the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor used in the Galaxy C55, Galaxy F55, and Galaxy M55. Despite a higher model number, the phone uses the same chip as the Galaxy M55, so there might be changes in other aspects of the device. For example, it might have a different camera configuration or battery capacity.

According to Geekbench's database, the Galaxy M55s has 8GB RAM and runs Android 14-based One UI 6 software out of the box. Going by Samsung's track record, the Galaxy M55s could get four major Android OS updates. This is the same number of updates that Samsung's other mid-range phones with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip will get.

Since the Galaxy M55 has GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port, the Galaxy M55s will likely have the same connectivity features. It could also have an in-display fingerprint reader and stereo speakers. More details about this phone could be revealed in the next few days.

Samsung is also preparing to launch the new Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, and the Galaxy S24 FE by the end of this year. The Galaxy Tab S10 could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy. The Galaxy S24 FE could use the Exynos 2400 chipset.
