A new software update has been released for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The last Galaxy Note smartphones are getting the August 2024 security update this week.

Galaxy Note 20 August 2024 update brings 50 security fixes
It will not surprise you that this update doesn't have anything but the latest security patch to offer. The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have been receiving only security updates for a while, as they completed their quota of OS and feature upgrades more than a year ago.
The August 2024 security patch comes bundled with fixes for 50 vulnerabilities. 35 of those vulnerabilities affect all Android devices, including a critical one that could allow attackers easy access to devices without permission. The other 15 vulnerabilities pose a risk only to Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
To download the update on your Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra, tap the Download and install option in the phone's Settings » Software update menu. Alternatively, you can download Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra firmware from our archives and install it on your phone manually using a Windows PC.
