Samsung's Fan Edition phones have garnered many fans over the past few years. Now, a new model is underway. Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy AI-enabled Galaxy S24 FE. Here's what the company revealed about pricing and availability.
In most markets, the new Galaxy S24 FE goes up for pre-order starting today. Then, the phone will go on sale worldwide on October 10.
As usual, the Fan Edition phone might land in some markets a bit later than others, but October 10 is when the Galaxy S24 FE is supposed to exit its pre-order period and hit the shelves in most regions.
Galaxy S24 FE prices and color options
The Galaxy S24 FE is available for pre-order in three memory configurations, although, once again, availability might differ from one market to another.
Officially, the Galaxy S24 FE features 8GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. This is the first time we see a 512GB storage option for a Fan Edition phone.
The 128GB and 256GB storage options will likely be available in the majority of regions, whereas the 512GB model might be a bit more exclusive.
More details after the video
In the USA, the 128GB Galaxy S24 FE is available for pre-order for $649, which makes it $20 costlier than the 128GB Galaxy S23 FE.
Meanwhile, the 256GB Galaxy S24 FE costs $709, and likewise, it is $20 more expensive than the Galaxy S23 FE with the same storage capacity.
Samsung could justify this small price increase through several factors other than the usual yearly hardware bumps and upgrades. One factor is that the Galaxy S24 FE benefits from firmware support for seven OS upgrades instead of four. The other is that the Galaxy S24 FE boasts a larger 6.7-inch display instead of a 6.4-inch one.
Time will tell what Galaxy FE fans make of this, and whether they'll feel like the price has gone too high or is warranted.
The Galaxy S24 FE has a flat frame and display, looks a lot like a Galaxy S24+ with thicker bezels (especially the lower one), and is available in five colors: Blue, Graphite, Gray, Mint, and Yellow.
