Samsung's Wear OS smartwatches are getting access to a new Peloton Watch App update starting today. The Peloton Wear OS app, which originally made it to the Play Store in November last year, is becoming more like its iOS counterpart and now allows Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 users to connect their wearables to Peloton fitness equipment.
The Peloton app was released for the Google Pixel Watch, the Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Watch 5 late last year. Unfortunately, it had many limitations, and for the most part, its functionality was reduced to tracking the user's heart rate.
Even more disappointing was that the iOS app had more functionality and could connect to Peloton fitness gear. Thankfully, the Wear OS app is now catching.
Wear OS Peloton app gets the iOS experience
Thanks to this update to the Peloton Wear OS app announced today, users can select a workout on their Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, Row, or Guide, then open the Peloton Watch app on the Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 5 and pair the devices to get more information on their smartwatches and track their goals in real time.
The update is available for Samsung Wear OS smartwatches through the Play Store. However, the Peloton app remains limited to select markets.
