Samsung is on an extremely impressive streak of releasing the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 update to as many devices as it can, as quickly as it can, and the company's not been discriminating between flagship and mid-range phones. In fact, Samsung isn't even discriminating between devices that sold well and those that didn't.
Case in point: The Galaxy Xcover 5, a rugged phone that didn't launch in too many countries and probably didn't sell all that well wherever it did launch, is now getting the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. Not that we should be surprised, seeing as how the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro was updated to Android 13 in mid-November, but still, Samsung's breakneck pace continues to impress everyone.
The Galaxy Xcover 5 (model number SM-G525F) is getting the Android 13 update in a dozen or so countries (most of them in Europe) at once, with the rollout seemingly having started a few hours back. The update even comes with the November 2022 security patch, so all the latest security fixes are included, as well.
Galaxy Xcover 5 Android 13 One UI 5.0 update rolling out
Our firmware archive has the complete Galaxy Xcover 5 Android 13 firmware available for download for anyone wanting to do a manual upgrade using a Windows PC, though we would suggest first trying to download it over the air, directly on the device, using the Download and install option in its Settings » Software update menu. An over-the-air download will cost you less data and is generally safer, especially if you have little or no experience with manually flashing firmware on a Samsung smartphone.
