The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the first model in the lineup to come with 12GB of RAM. Like the smallest model in Samsung’s yearly Galaxy S lineup, the first four Galaxy Z Flip smartphones came with 8GB of RAM as standard and didn’t have a 12GB option at all.
More RAM, more power
But that changes this year with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. In fact, it seems Samsung has launched the phone with 12GB of RAM as standard. It’s unclear if all markets will get a minimum of 12GB RAM. But it certainly looks that way based on Samsung’s press release for the Flip 6. The press release doesn’t mention a configuration with 8GB of RAM.
Samsung did test an 8GB RAM variant before the phone’s official launch. But if such a variant does exist, it is likely limited to select markets. We have asked Samsung for confirmation on this and will update this article once we get a response.
With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and 12GB of RAM, the Z Flip 6 is the most powerful Flip yet. It will also be the coolest, as it is the first Galaxy Z Flip to sport a vapor chamber cooling system.
As far as storage options go, you can pick up the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in 256GB or 512GB flavors. There is no 1TB version, and like all other flagship phones Samsung has launched since 2021, the Flip 6 doesn’t have a microSD slot.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will go on sale worldwide from July 24. Pre-orders open in most markets starting July 10, and the starting price is $1099.99, $100 more than previous models.
