The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has been unveiled today. Samsung's newest foldable smartphone is looking great and fortunately for fans, they won't need to wait for long before they can get their hands on it. Samsung has confirmed today when it's going to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Samsung hasn't confirmed all of the details about the device's specifications today. What it did focus on was detailing just how the durability of the device has been improved. That's something that it needed to address after the original Galaxy Fold stumbled out the gate last year.
Pre-order Galaxy Z Fold 2 from September 1
Samsung said today that it's going to reveal more details about the Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 1. The company also said that September 1 is when it's going to start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 2. We'll probably find out on that day when the handset is going to be released, but it shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks after that. Samsung is now taking registrations for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, allowing users to reserve a spot in the line for when the pre-orders actually open.
The company did reveal today that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has an Ultra-Thin Glass foldable display of 7.6-inches. It's mated to a re-engineered Hideaway Hinge that also brings the Flex Mode to this unique device. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be available in Samsung's new signature Mystic Bronze color in addition to Mystic Black when it goes on sale next month.
It's also extending the Thom Browne partnership that was introduced earlier this year with the Galaxy Z Flip. Well-heeled customers will be able to purchase a Galaxy Z Fold 2 Thom Browne Edition.
Samsung hasn't confirmed the price for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 yet but there's good reason to believe that it may cost the same $1,980 as its predecessor.
