The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is official at long last, with Samsung detailing its new flagship foldable at its Galaxy Unpacked event today alongside a couple of other products. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 builds on what made the Galaxy Z Fold 2 so good and brings a surprisingly big amount of fancy new features, such as an under-panel camera, water resistance, and S Pen support.
But what sort of money will you have to spend to get your hands on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and its awesome features? And when will you be able to get one?
Galaxy Z Fold 3 price and release date
Let's start with the price: The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will set you back by $1799.99 if you opt for the base model, which features 256GB of storage (non-expandable) and 12GB of RAM. Add $100 to that and you get the variant with 512GB of storage, which also has 12GB of RAM.
Yes, the Z Fold 3 is more affordable than the Z Fold 2, as the rumors had suggested. That said, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 box will be missing a couple of accessories, namely a charger and earbuds. Still, considering the combined cost of Samsung's 25W charger and AKG earbuds if you buy them separately is $49.98, the Z Fold 3's lower price isn't just the result of Samsung cutting out bundled accessories from the package.
Speaking of accessories, the Galaxy Z Fold 3's unique Fold Edition S Pen, which is a separate purchase, will cost you $49.99. If you opt for the S Pen Pro, which works with the Fold 3 and all Galaxy devices that support stylus input, you will have to shell out $99.99.
As for when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 goes on sale, it's August 27. That release date should apply to most markets around the world, although it may be an additional few weeks before the Galaxy Z Fold 3 hits retail shelves in others. There will naturally be a pre-order period, with different pre-order bonuses depending on your country, details of which will be available on Samsung.com.
