An hour ago, we reported that Samsung has released a software update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that offers the January 2025 security patch. Well, we’ve just discovered that the company is rolling out the latest security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well.
So far, Samsung has made it available only for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has the model number SM-F956U. The new software update carries firmware version F956USQS2AXLG.
You can either click on the notification you might have received about the update or go to Settings » Software update » Download and install to get it. You can also download it from our firmware section and install it manually using Odin on a Windows PC.
The January 2025 security patch offers fixes for 51 security issues, making your device more secure than before. So, make sure to get it as soon as you can. Samsung should release it to other Galaxy Z Fold 6 variants soon.

Samsung will also soon release Android 15-based One UI 7.0 to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. According to various reports, the South Korean tech giant should start rolling out the new software update to eligible devices after the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
