One UI 9.5 is getting closer, and it will bring plenty of changes, including updates to Samsung’s first-party apps. We gave you a look at the updated Samsung Calendar app earlier, and now it’s Samsung Health’s turn.

The Samsung Health app from One UI 9.5 has some visual changes, but the biggest addition is Mindful note, a journaling feature inside the app’s Mindfulness section.

Mindful note lets you write freely or use prompts

Mindful note gives you a place to write down your thoughts, feelings, and everyday experiences. You can start with a blank entry through the Everyday moments card or choose a prompt if you need help getting started.

The prompts are divided into four categories: About yourself, Relationships, Work and goals, and What if…? These cover topics such as your feelings and values, connections with other people, future plans, and different perspectives.

For example, one prompt asks, “What was a small moment of peace you enjoyed today?” A short explanation below it encourages you to reflect on that experience. You can also set reminders for writing these mindful notes.

The Mindfulness screen has been updated to accommodate the feature. Its combined shortcut card now has four smaller, circular shortcuts, including Mindful note, replacing the three large rectangular buttons in the current app. The same shortcuts are also available as dedicated cards below the combined shortcut card.

Samsung Health gets softer colors and simpler tile graphics

Elsewhere, Samsung has toned down several of the app’s colorful tiles. Energy score, Cycle tracking, Vitals, Blood pressure, and Vascular load now have darker, softer backgrounds with a more transparent appearance.

The large illustrations have also been reduced to smaller graphics inside circular badges. Sleep and Sleep coaching lose their starry backgrounds in favor of simpler purple gradients.

Samsung Health already received a major redesign in June, less than five months ago. That update reorganized the app around Activity, Sleep, Vitals, Mindfulness, and Nutrition, alongside new health features.

With that redesign being so recent, Samsung is likely focusing on refining it rather than changing the whole app again. The softer cards also fit the glass-like styling seen in earlier One UI 9.5 builds.

Of course, this is still an early version. Samsung may add more features or make further design changes as One UI 9.5 development continues.
