Samsung’s smartphones have one of the most symmetrical, cleanest, and modern designs in the market. However, it looks like the brand wants to try something new, as it is now looking to hire a new designer for its mobile division.

According to The Korea Herald, Samsung is in discussion with Mauro Porcini, a globally renowned designer who is currently working as the chief design offer (CDO) at PepsiCo, to hire him as the CDO for the tech giant’s mobile division.

The publication points out that if the talks are successful, Mauro Porcini will be Samsung's first foreign CDO for its mobile division. Currently, this position is held by Hubert H. Lee, whom the brand hired in December 2022. Previously, he worked as chief design offer for Mercedes Benz.

With Samsung appointing a new CDO, we may see a significant change to the design of the Galaxy smartphones and tablets. We hope that the new design retains the qualities of the current one, which is something that sets the South Korean tech giant apart from the crowd.
