Samsung India has prepared a limited-time offer for prospective Galaxy A51 buyers, wherein the mid-range smartphone, i.e., the company's best-selling smartphone of Q1 2020, is now available at a discount. The company recently tweeted the news that the Galaxy A51 with 6GB of RAM is now available for INR 22,499 ($299). The same device was being sold for INR 25,250 just a week ago.
Perhaps Samsung had realized that the Galaxy A51 became a horrible deal for Indian customers after it announced the Galaxy M31s for the starting price of INR 19,499. This new mid-range phone from Samsung was released in India yesterday, and Samsung is cutting the price of the Galaxy A51 less than 24 hours later.
The temporary INR 22,499 price tag is not yet listed on the company's online shop. The 6GB model carries a price of INR 23,999 but this should change soon, seeing how the limited-time offer lasts until August 15. The 8GB model also appears to have been discounted as it's now listed for INR 25,999, down from last week's INR 26,999 price.
Even so, Samsung's efforts to keep the Galaxy A51 relevant in a post-Galaxy M31s world could be in vain. The Galaxy M31s still looks like a better value proposition even considering the ongoing Galaxy A51's limited-time deal. It's cheaper, it shares many of its specs with the Galaxy A51 while being better in some areas including the cameras and battery.
