As a longtime Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung appears to be more involved than ever in the Olympics in 2024. The company has spread its “Open Always Wins” slogan across Paris and is supporting 44 athletes from Europe. It launched an art campaign in the city and released new special-edition accessories. But there's more.
At Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung revealed that it has created a fourth medal for the 2024 Olympics. It's even more symbolic than the existing gold, silver, and bronze medals.
This fourth medal is transparent and made of recycled glass. On the side, it carries the “Open Always Wins” message.
A new medal and a special-edition Galaxy Z Flip 6
Every athlete at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will receive this glass medal from Samsung. Participants will also get a limited Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition smartphone that is unavailable for purchase. It's made exclusively for Olympians.
For the first time in the history of the Olympics, athletes will be able to take their phones — specifically their Galaxy Z Flip — to the Olympic Games podium, where they will be allowed to capture and share selfies. However, it is unclear when the Open Always Wins glass medal will be given to participants.

Speaking of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, the standard version is now available for pre-order and comes in four standard colors and three online-exclusive ones. The Olympic Edition has a gold color and carries Olympic and Paralympic symbols. It's also pre-loaded with a variety of apps and has a unique FlipSuit Case. But, once again, it's not for sale.
The Paris 2024 Olympics start on July 26 and end on August 11. The games will host approximately 10,500 Olympians. The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8 and will host an estimated 4,400 Paralympians.
