At the Galaxy Unpacked event last week, Samsung took wraps off the most awaited smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S24 series. However, apart from the premium smartphones, Samsung also teased the Galaxy Ring, which is expected to debut at the Unpacked event in the second half of this year. But the latest leak suggests that Samsung is working on a Galaxy VR headset and a controller.
Popular tipster Roland Quandt on X (formerly Twitter) shared information that Samsung has an SM-I130 VR headset and an SM-I610 probably a VR controller, in development. Notably, it seems like the South Korean giant will take on the Apple Vision Pro with its latest Galaxy VR headset.
Moreover, the latest Galaxy VR headset, which is in the works, seems to be an iteration of the SM-I110 XR/VR headset, which has been leaked in the past. Apple is all set to unveil the Vision Pro headset next month, and with the leaks in place, Samsung doesn't seem to be delaying the launch of its product.
It was also reported that the Apple Vision Pro headset could be using Samsung's brighter screen. A few months ago, Samsung registered a trademark for its smart glasses. While there is not much information available regarding the availability of the Galaxy VR headset, Samsung might launch its headset alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which is set to happen in August 2024.
