As scheduled, Samsung has launched two new M-series smartphones in India, the Galaxy M06 5G and the Galaxy M16 5G. This also happens to be their global debut. While the former is based on the Galaxy A06 5G, the latter is based on the Galaxy A16 5G. Let’s take a look at their specifications, prices, and availability details.
The Galaxy M06 5G starts at INR 9,499 ($109) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Whereas, the Galaxy M16 starts at INR 11,499 ($132) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Samsung says that these are introductory prices.
Both phones will be available exclusively from Samsung's official online store and app and Amazon India. While the Galaxy M06 5G goes on sale on 7 March 2025 at 12 PM, the Galaxy M16 5G goes on sale on 5 March 2025 at 12 PM.
Galaxy M06 5G specifications
The Galaxy M06 5G has a 6.7-inch display with LCD technology, HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. Samsung has packed it with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC and is shipping the phone with Android 15-based One UI 7.0. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging speed and a microSD card slot.
As for imaging, the Galaxy M06 5G has two cameras at the rear, a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, you get an 8MP camera. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 167.4 x 77.4 x 8mm and weighs 191 grams.
Galaxy M16 5G specifications
The Galaxy M16 5G has a 6.7-inch display with Super AMOLED technology, Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits peak brightness. It packs Dimensity 6300 and runs on Android 15-based One UI 7.0. What's exciting is that Samsung is going to offer six OS upgrades and six years of security updates to the smartphone. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with support for charging at up to 25W.
At the rear, there is a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, there is a 13MP camera. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 200 grams, and is water and dust resistant with an IP54 rating.
